Well, I still haven’t gotten use to the fact that I now wake up with a man lying beside me!
For the most part, it’s been very comforting having someone there. I have always been the type of person who doesn’t like to sleep alone. I can’t tell you how many times growing up, that I crawled into bed with my little sister! I love to cuddle.
However, there has been a certain sleeping habit of Josh’s that I’ve had to get accustomed to. Josh agreed to let me share with you a funny story from one of the nights on our honeymoon.
3:30am - I hear Josh’s voice and glance over to see him propped up and leaning a little towards the nightstand. As clear as could be I hear him say, “”Yes…uh hi, I’m Josh and this is my new wife Cassidy. We are having a great time on our honeymoon…” His voice kind of faded out and my first thought was that he was talking on the telephone next to the bed. Yet, it was really late so I touched his arm and asked, “Who are you talking to?” He then turned around to look at me and that’s when I noticed there was no phone in his hand. He said, “Oh…just someone, uh…” then his words became all jumbled. I couldn’t make out the rest of what he was saying, so I started giggling and told him to go back to sleep. He then laid back as if completely worn out and slowly closed his eyes.
When the next morning came, I asked Josh if he remembered saying anything he said last night. And of course, as is common of most sleep-talkers, he didn’t recall a thing! Since then, there have been numerous other times that Josh has woken me up by spouting off crazy phrases. And at least a couple of times he’s gotten pretty loud! But as crazy as it sounds, I actually find it very cute. And thankfully, he hasn’t woken me up every night.
Good thing I’m a heavy sleeper.

hahahah you guys are cute and that is really funny. My husband Sean also is known for talking in his sleep. It’s cute when he says cute or funny things, but there have been times it has been flat out creepy! The creepiest example was one time he sat up straight in bed and simply stated in this monotone voice “The man with no legs drags himself across the hardwood floor.” Then laid back down like nothing had happened!
hahahah isnt marriage interesting!
See ya Sunday!
Oh my gosh! These stories are so funny!! I am serously laughting out loud!! Erica had a roommate in college who talked in her sleep and one night she sat straight up in the bed and said, in a scared voice, “There is a man at the door.” Erica said she knew ther wasn’t because they lived in the dorm but she was still really scared and pulled the covers over her head without looking at the door until she went to sleep.
Oh man! I am just glad Boyd only mumbles in his sleep!
I’m laughing out loud too…Krista’s comment had me in tears I was laughing so hard!! Brian does some weird things too, but nothing that comical. The best was when I woke up and his feet were where his head should be. And he comes very close to elbowing me in the face a little too often. I don’t sleep as well as I used to but I still love having him there beside me
Krista - Yay…I’m not alone! That’s hilarious. I guess I’ll have to prepare myself for the creepy comments as I’m sure they’ll probably come!
Brittany - Well, that’s what Erica gets for living in Brackin. HAHA! Just kidding! I would have been freaked out too. And the pulling the covers over the head thing sounds like something I would have done!
Melissa - Brian is a wild man! How did he manage to flip himself upside down without knocking you off the bed?! Haha! That must have been hilarious to wake up to!
brian said he thinks he must have sat up, like he was going to get out of bed for bathroom/water/whatever, then decided he was too tired for that and ended up laying back down the other way. he couldn’t really remember but that’s what he thought must have happened. last night i almost got elbowed in the face again. i wake up and his elbow is just right there. i must have sleep angels protecting me!
I forgot to share one crazy story…how could I forget this one?! One night Boyd and I were sleeping soundly until I woke up to a PUNCH IN THE FACE!!! He didn’t hit me hard enough to leave any kind of mark but it scared the crap out of me!! We both woke up immediately and he felt SO bad!! He said he was dreaming he was in a fight and swung a punch that just happened to hit me! We laughed and then went back to sleep!
Bed buddies are so fun!
First of all- Cassidy, I am so glad you are back to blogging!
Second- Although Kyle doesn’t talk/mumble/etc in his sleep, he does kick his legs. We’re not talking restless leg syndrome… One night, he lifted his leg straight up (90 degree angle to his body) and dropped it on the bed. Needless to say, the entire bed shook. He also shakes his head every once in awhile. Almost like something is on it and he is trying to get it off. I don’t think it would be too bad, but I am a really light sleeper (we sleep with a floor fan on so I can have some “white noise”!)!
Hahahahaha. Wow. I am seriously cracking up.
Brittany, I think Boyd wins the award for WEIRDEST bed moment!! That is hilarious! Tell him to “calm down, Rocky!”
And Liz, thanks for sharing your (or should I say Kyle’s) sleeping habit story! I’m glad to be back to blogging too!
I was telling Kyle about all of these stories and he reminded me of another interesting night… I went to bed really late one night after working on some school work. I didn’t want to disturb him so I got in bed and was going straight to sleep. He rolled over and gave me a kiss… which HE then turned into a full on make-out session. We then when to sleep. I asked him about it the next morning and he didn’t even remember me coming to bed!
I thought I would let you know that when Brian and I were in Michigan last weekend, I went to bed exhausted Sat. night and Brian came to bed a while later. Apparently when he came to bed I looked up and asked him “did you catch the train to Albequerque?” and then went back to sleep. I don’t remember any of it. I’m just glad it wasn’t something more embarrassing!!
